Maharashtra Assembly Session 2025: Action will now be taken directly under MCOCA in various parts of the state in cases of MD drugs and other narcotics smuggling. State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made this biggest and most important announcement while speaking in the Legislative Council during the monsoon session. The Chief Minister has also clarified that a separate unit has been activated in each place for drug activities.

MD drugs are a serious issue for Maharashtra and the country. The number of smugglers has increased in Maharashtra. Not only among the youth, but also school children are addicted to this MD. It has also increased in rural areas like Mumbai, Pune, Bhandara, Gondia. Those arrested in this case get bail within a year.
