India's economic crisis in Pakistan; Immediate ban on imports and exports
Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: India has taken strict steps against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India has imposed an immediate ban on imports and exports of all goods coming from Pakistan.
On May 2, 2025, the Central Government has implemented this ban by announcing a new Para 2.20A under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. An immediate ban has been imposed on the import or movement of all goods coming directly or indirectly from or exported from Pakistan. This ban has been imposed in the interest of national security and public policy, and if an exception is required, prior permission from the Central Government will be required.
Therefore, now no goods will come to India from Pakistan and no goods will be sent from India to Pakistan. India had earlier stopped direct trade due to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. But now the government has decided to stop all types of indirect trade as well.
The Ministry of Commerce has also issued a notification in this regard. According to this notification, India has imposed an immediate ban on direct and indirect import and export of all goods from Pakistan.
This decision of the Indian government is a big blow to Pakistan. The Ministry of Commerce is now also preparing a list of such products that will no longer be imported or exported from India.
