
Jabalpur-Nagpur National Highway passing through Kamthi to be widened soon
??A grand commercial complex will be built in Kamthi
Nagpur, Dec. 12: In order to overcome the traffic congestion in Kamthi city, as the Nagpur-Jabalpur National Highway passes through Kamthi city, a decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today to widen this road in the city to 18 meters.
The road in Kamthi, which is part of this national highway, was left only seven meters wide due to encroachment, and people had to face frequent traffic jams at this place. This decision has now given a boost to the development of Kamthi. It was directed in the meeting that the encroachments on this road will be removed jointly by the district administration, municipal council, and metro. According to the survey of 1912-13, the encroachments will be removed by measuring 18 meters of this road.
Kamthi Commercial Complex
A grand commercial complex was approved in this meeting at Nazul's place by underwriting the metro station to be built in the area of bus stop, city council and tehsil office. Many businessmen will have shops available for their business in this complex. Along with this, the problem of traffic congestion will also be resolved.
Approval of various routes
The meeting discussed various pending routes in the rural areas of the district. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule demanded funds from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and drew attention to these roads in the rural areas. In this, the proposals regarding granting the status of National Highway to Kharangana - Kondhali - Katol - Savargaon - Vadchicholi road, providing funds for the State Highway of Mauda - Mathani Chapegadi Kuhi, approving the DPR of this National Highway up to Karanja-Loharisawanga-Bharshingi - Kharsoli-Narkhed-Madhya Pradesh border, construction of a road from Koradi Naka to Orchid School from the under-construction flyover on Nagpur-Chhindwara National Highway, providing funds for the work of a ropeway from Shri Mahadev Tekdi to Hanuman Mandir (151 feet) under Shri Koradi Mahalaxmi Temple, providing funds for the National Highway of Dahegaon-Kamthi-Ajani Baroda-Kuhi, construction of a service road on the Gondkhairi Bhandara exit road and a road at the main intersection at Panjra etc. were approved.
The meeting discussed the metro station at Dragon Palace Kamthi. It was decided to rehabilitate 30 percent of the existing land for the people while developing Neelam Lawn and Friday Market and develop food court, mall and other modern facilities on the remaining land.
MLAs Krishnaji Khopde, Pravin Datke, Charan Singh Thakur, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, Nagpur Improvement Trust Chairman Sanjay Mina, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Public Works Department Chief Engineer Nandanwar and senior officials were present in this meeting.
