Jejuri Fort under threat from Bhandara, health of devotees at risk... Complaint to government
Jejuri: Jejuri city of Khandoba, the ancestral deity of Maharashtra, is known as the golden Jejuri. Devotees from all over the country come to visit Khanderaya and spend money on Bhandara. However, now it is being alleged that this same Bhandara is adversely affecting the health of devotees. Former trustees have alleged that the historic Jejuri Fort is under threat from Bhandara.
Jejuri city of Khandoba, the ancestral deity of Maharashtra, is known as the golden Jejuri, because of the yellow Bhandara that is spent in Jejuri. The yellow Bhandara is spent so much on Jejuri Fort and in Jejuri city that Jejuri city literally turns yellow like gold due to this Bhandara, which is why Jejuri is also called the golden Jejuri.
However, this yellow Bhandara is now becoming dangerous to the health of devotees and locals coming to Jejuri. Former trustee Shivraj Zagade has alleged that the health of devotees is being endangered due to the adulteration in this Bhandara. Adulteration in this Bhandara should be stopped. This demand has been made by Shivraj Zagade, former trustee of Martand Devsanstha in Jejuri. He has given a statement in this regard to the Minister of Food and Drug Administration, Narhari Jirwal.
Bhandara has been used in the Khanderaya of Jejuri since ancient times. Devotees consume the Bhandara with devotion. However, for the last few years, it has been adulterated. The priests and Khandekars of the temple had complained to the administration about this. Turmeric powder, Bhandara powder, is sold in the temple premises even though it is stamped as non-edible.
This Bhandara affects the health of devotees. It causes eye irritation, eye irritation, itching, burns on the body, and black spots. Importantly, this treasure is affecting historical stones and the Archaeological Department has also given a report that it should be banned, Vishwaraj Zagade has informed. What decision will the administration take on this now? It will be important to see.
