Journalists’ Annual Get-Together Celebrated with Grandeur at Press Club.

The annual get-together of journalists and their families at the Patrakar Club of Nagpur was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Independence Day. The programme was jointly organised by the Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust (TPBT) in association with the Nagpur Union of Working Journalists (NUWJ), the Patrakar Club of Nagpur (PCN), and the Nagpur Digital Patrakar Sangh (NDPS). 
The musical group -- 'Srujan’ -- enthralled the audience with a medley of timeless classics and contemporary hits. Vocalists and musicians including Shashikant, Charudutta, Pawan, Snehal, Swati, Shreyas, Vikas, and Nitin captivated the gathering with their soulful performances.
Brigadier Abhijeet Valimbe, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub-Area, Indian Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while MLA Mohan Mate attended as the Guest of Honour.
The Chief Guest felicitated award-winning journalists for their outstanding contribution to the field of journalism by presenting them with mementoes. The honorees included Mahesh Updeo (Saamna), Naresh Dongre (Lokmat), Shyamkant Jahagirdar (Tarun Bharat, Delhi), Tikaram Sahu ‘Azad’ (Dainik Bhaskar), and senior journalists Prabhakar Dupare and Bhupendra Ganvir.
Meritorious children of journalists were also recognised and felicitated with cash prizes and floral bouquets. The awardees were Devang Bipendra Singh, Kirit Kartik Lokhande, Medhansh Milind Mahajan, Ashi Amit Verma, Gargi Kunte, Anagh Raghvendra Tiwari, Kartiki Mahesh Shimpi, Janhvi Natwarlal Aboti, Urvashi Jitendra Sonkamble, Kalyani Deorao Pradhan, and Palak Satyendra Bharadwaj.
Addressing the gathering, Pradip Kumar Maitra, President of the Maharashtra Union of Working Journalists (MUWJ), Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Trust (TPBT), and Patrakar Club of Nagpur (PCN), said that the annual get-together has been organised continuously for the past 26 years. He further announced that TPBT will institute the'Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar’ to honour an eminent journalist every year in memory of Adv. Prabhakar Marpakwar.
The event was also graced by the presence of Shirish Borkar, General Secretary, TPBT; Bramhashankar Tripathi, President, NUWJ and General Secretary, PCN; Anupam Soni, General Secretary, NUWJ; senior Editor S.N. Vinod; Prabhakar Dupare; Joseph Rao; Vishwas Indurkar; Vivek Puradbhat, Mahesh Updeo; senior journalist Chandrakant Joshi; Ramu Bhagwat; photo-journalists Ranjit Deshmukh and Sunny Shende; and NDPS office bearers Vijay Thakur (President), Mukesh Hedau (General Secretary), and Prakash Rangari (Treasurer), among others.
