Kalyan-Dombivli Corporator Ramesh Mhatre Granted Bail by Bombay High Court; To Stay in Goa Under Strict Conditions
Kalyan-Dombivli: The Bombay High Court has granted bail to all the accused, including Shinde-faction corporator Ramesh Mhatre, who were arrested for allegedly assaulting a municipal corporation doctor.
The court granted bail subject to strict terms and conditions. All the accused have been directed to reside outside Maharashtra until the charge sheet is filed. Ramesh Mhatre will be staying in Goa and is required to report to the Anjuna Police Station in Goa three days a week.
The court has ordered the confiscation of the passports of all the accused. The case will be heard in a fast-track court; the court has also issued a clear warning that the accused must cooperate once the trial begins and must not seek adjournments. During the hearing, the lawyers for the accused had requested permission to appear before the court via video conferencing (VC).
