LPG Black Marketing Rife in Bhandara District Amidst Severe Shortage! Booking, OTP, Subsidy... Yet Cylinders Go Missing

Bhandara: At a time when the war in the Gulf nations has triggered a shortage of domestic LPG cylinders across the state, a new scam has come to light in Bhandara district. Customers book a cylinder, receive an OTP on their mobile phones, get a notification confirming delivery, and even see the subsidy amount credited directly to their bank accounts—yet, in reality, the cylinder never actually reaches their doorstep. Consequently, customers are enduring immense distress and inconvenience.
According to a report by Praveen Tandekar of Zee Media, Bhandara, whenever customers visit the agency to inquire about their order, they are simply told, "The delivery has already been completed." As a result, many customers return empty-handed. Complaints regarding such fraudulent practices occurring rampantly across the district are pouring in. It has also been revealed that certain agents are selling cylinders registered under one person's name to a third party. Furthermore, there are allegations that black marketing is being conducted openly in some areas, with vehicles being parked right on the roadside to facilitate these illicit transactions.
The Supply Department has taken cognizance of this matter and has acknowledged receiving numerous complaints. Officials have indicated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty. Meanwhile, demands for immediate action to provide relief to the affected customers as quickly as possible are gaining momentum.
