Last chance to register for Nagpur Graduate Constituency; Thursday is the last date
Citizens struggle in the process of registration of Graduate Constituency; Technical difficulties in the online system
Nagpur: The last date for online voter registration for citizens who want to participate in the voting for Nagpur Graduate Constituency in the upcoming Legislative Council elections is ending on Thursday (date…). Therefore, a large crowd of citizens interested in filling the form has been seen on digital media as well as in support centers for the last few days. However, due to technical problems in the online registration system, non-receipt of OTP, server down and difficulties in uploading documents, many graduates are having difficulty submitting the form despite continuous efforts.
Since ‘Graduate Constituency’ is a special constituency, documents such as proof of graduation obtained at least three years ago, self-finance documents, residence proof, identity card etc. are required for voter registration here. But since this process is completely online, special obstacles have arisen for citizens who lack digital literacy and face internet problems.
In the last two days, it was seen at various centers that many citizens were standing in queues or sitting in cyber cafes from morning till evening trying to fill the online forms. Although some started filling the forms in the afternoon, the forms were not submitted even till evening due to delays on the server.
Some have complained to the administration on social media and demanded immediate improvement in the technical facilities in the registration process. “Voting is our fundamental right, but it is not right to have to struggle so much to exercise this right,” many have expressed their opinion.
Meanwhile, the District Election Office has appealed to the citizens to complete the registration process immediately without wasting time. The administration has clarified that as there is a possibility of sudden increase in crowd on the last day, complete the registration as soon as possible without waiting for the last moment.
