Life imprisonment to 7 accused in famous Nikhil Meshram murder case
Nagpur case, five accused acquitted due to lack of evidence
Nagpur. Seven of the 12 accused were found guilty in the famous Nikhil Meshram murder case in Shantinagar, Nagpur city. On Tuesday, February 7, these 7 convicts were sentenced to life imprisonment. The remaining 5 accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Sessions Court Judge S.B. This decision of Gawande is being considered as the biggest punishment in recent times, in which 7 people have been sentenced to life imprisonment simultaneously. In December last year, a death sentence was awarded.
A complaint was registered against 24 accused at Shantinagar police station. The Additional Sessions Court considered the recorded statements of 17 witnesses in this case. After this, 7 accused were sentenced to life imprisonment. The names of the seven people who have been sentenced to life imprisonment are Shankar Nathu Solanki, Devilal alias Deva Nath Solanki, Suraj Chetan Rathod, Ramesh Nathulal Solanki, Yash alias Guddu Harish Lakhani, Mikhan Nathulal Salad and Meena Nathulal Salad. Those acquitted in absentia include the names of Vijay Harichandra Chavan, Guddi Laxman Rathod, Kiran alias Sugna Devi Lal Solanki, Pinky Nathulal Solanki and Ratna Nathulal Solanki.
4 accused absconding, 8 accused minor
Apart from these, Geeta Chetan Rathod, Maya Shankar Solanki, Rajuri Harilal Parmar and Dhanashree Ramesh Solanki are the accused who are still absconding. The case could not even be heard against these absconding accused. Of the remaining accused, 8 were named minors. All the accused are relatives of each other. All of them are residents of Baba Sumernagar.
love affair resulted in blood
Kiran alias Vicky, brother of deceased Nikhil, had a love affair with a girl from the family of Arapis. Regarding this matter, there was resentment in the mind of the accused about Vicky. A day before the murder, he beat up Vicky and his mother. Vicky filed a police complaint against this. This further increased the resentment among the accused. The accused asked to withdraw the case. Vicky and Nikhil did not agree.
To avenge this, the accused attacked Nikhil and Vicky with sticks, bricks, stones, iron rods and axes around 9.30 pm on May 20, 2018. Chilli powder was thrown in Nikhil's eyes. In this attack, Nikhil received deep injuries on his head. He was admitted to Mayo Hospital. The doctor declared Nikhil dead. Vicky also got serious injuries. The case of this murder was registered in Shantinagar police station.
