Long-Awaited Demand from Konkan Fulfilled! Sawantwadi Station Renamed; Cabinet Takes 4 Major Decisions

Mumbai: Significant decisions were taken during a meeting of the State Cabinet held in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The most widely discussed of these decisions is the renaming of the Sawantwadi Railway Station.
The Cabinet has approved renaming the Sawantwadi Railway Station to 'Lokmanya Madhu Dandavate Railway Terminus' in memory of the late Madhu Dandavate—a senior leader and the architect of the Konkan Railway's development. This demand, long cherished by the people of the Konkan region, has now finally been fulfilled. The proposal regarding this renaming will soon be forwarded to the Central Government.
The other three key decisions taken by the Cabinet are as follows:
Transfers of Government Employees: The deadline for general transfers scheduled for the year 2026 has been extended. Additionally, approval was granted for making amendments to the existing transfer rules and regulations.
Pimpleshwar Temple in Dombivli: Approval was granted to allot 4 acres and 25 gunthas of land at a nominal rate to the Pimpleshwar Devasthan Temple Trust, located at Sonarpada in Dombivli (Thane district).
Nagpur Road Project: A decision was taken to exempt stamp duty on land acquisition for the new Nagpur road and the new Outer Bypass Road projects.
These decisions are set to benefit various regions of the state, including Konkan, Thane, and Nagpur.
