MPSC Group-B Recruitment 2026: 552 Vacancies for Police Sub-Inspector, State Tax Inspector, and Assistant Section Officer Posts; Apply by April 30

This Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, across 37 district centers in Maharashtra.
Educational Qualification:
A graduate degree or an equivalent qualification is mandatory for all posts. Candidates currently in the final year of their degree program are also eligible to apply. However, it is mandatory to have passed the degree examination at the time of applying for the Main Examination.
Age Limit (as of August 1, 2026):
State Tax Inspector & Assistant Section Officer: Open Category – 18 to 38 years; Backward Classes/Tribals/Orphans – 19 to 43 years; Persons with Disabilities – 19 to 45 years.
Police Sub-Inspector: 19 to 31 years (Age relaxation applicable as per reservation norms).
Physical Eligibility for Police Sub-Inspector Post: Height – 165 cm for males, 157 cm for females; Chest Measurement (for males) – 79 cm (unexpanded) to 84 cm (expanded). (Candidates with disabilities are ineligible for this post).
Pay Scale:
State Tax Inspector & Police Sub-Inspector: S-14 (Rs. 38,600 – 1,22,800)
Assistant Section Officer: S-16 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) + Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances. Selection Process:
Combined Preliminary Examination: 100 Marks (Objective Type, 1 Hour, Marathi and English Mediums)
Main Examination: 400 Marks (Separate for each category)
0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The syllabus for the Preliminary Examination is available on the MPSC website.
