Marker Ink Controversy: Preparing to Blame Even Before the Results, Fadnavis Takes a Dig at Thackeray
Nagpur: Voting for the 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra was held today. The voting process continued from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The state's prominent leaders exercised their right to vote. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis voted in Nagpur with his wife, Amruta Fadnavis.
Speaking to reporters after voting, Fadnavis commented on the controversy surrounding the marker ink used in the voting process. "The Election Commission decides all these things. Marker ink has been used before. If anyone has an objection, the Commission should look into it. But some people are anticipating the results and starting to make accusations from today itself. They are preparing to blame someone after the results are declared tomorrow," he remarked sarcastically. This remark is believed to be directed at Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray.
Fadnavis said, "Voting is the foundation of democracy. It is everyone's duty to vote. Not voting is an insult to democracy. The attack on our candidate Bhushan Shingne by the Congress is wrong. Resorting to such strong-arm tactics because they cannot accept defeat in the election is bad."
In this election, the opposition has alleged that the marker ink can be erased, raising questions about the integrity of the voting process.
