On the other hand, Kuki-Meitei communities are claiming that many dead bodies are missing. The houses of 50 thousand 648 people have been destroyed in the violence.
Due to violence, Manipur has become the first state in the country, where everything from districts to government offices has been divided into two communities. Before the violence, Meitei-Kukis used to live together in the state with a population of 34 lakh and 16 districts, but the situation is now that there are no Meiteis left in the Kuki-dominated Churachandpur, Tengnoupol, Kangpokpi, Thyzaul, Chandel districts. Similarly, Meitei-dominated Imphal West, East, Vishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kapsin have migrated to Kuki.

Meitei community owns 90% land in Manipur
Manipur consists of 53% Meiteis, who live mainly in the Imphal Valley. Of the 16 districts, 9 are hilly, covering 90% of the state's land. Most of the cookies remain on this.
Till May 3, about 30 thousand Kukis lived in Imphal. Similarly, 40 thousand Meiteis were living in the hill districts for years, but their houses have been razed to the ground. Nonne, Temenglong districts are dominated by Nagas, Kapsin Meitei and Chandel Naga-Kuki. There is peace in these districts since the beginning.
Meitei-Kuki communities maintain their own buffer zones. Women are keeping guard on the roads. They have checkposts from where they are not allowed to proceed without identification. Same is the condition of Meitei areas. Since the violence, 6523 FIRs have been registered so far. Most of these are zero FIRs. Of these, 5107 cases are of arson and 71 are of murders.
