Mumbai: A terrible train accident has come to light from Mumbai and 4 people died after falling from a local train near Mumbra station. The passengers standing at the door fell down when two local trains from Mumbai to Karjat and Kasara to Mumbai rubbed against each other. After this accident, there is a lot of grief and state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar along with MAVI leaders have also expressed grief.
It is very unfortunate that a total of 8 passengers fell from a local train between Diva-Mumbra station and some people died in the accident. I pay my heartfelt tributes to them. We share in the grief of their families. The injured were immediately admitted to Shivaji Hospital and Thane General Hospital and are undergoing treatment. The local administration is coordinating. I pray to God that the injured get relief soon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Railway Department has started an investigation into the exact cause of this incident.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's reaction
I am also deeply saddened by the terrible accident that took place near Mumbra railway station this morning. This is a very sad incident. Thousands of passengers travel on this route every morning. I share the grief of the families of the deceased. Instructions have been given to hospitals in Thane and Kalwa to provide immediate and proper treatment to the injured and I have also spoken to the doctors myself. An inquiry has been initiated into the accident by the Railways and the exact cause of the unfortunate accident will come out soon, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also expressed grief.
Sharad Pawar's reaction
The incident of passengers falling from the train between Diva and Mumbra stations of the Central Railway and dying is very unfortunate. I pay my heartfelt tributes to all the innocent passengers. Also, some passengers are undergoing treatment in the hospital. I pray that their health also improves soon. On an average, 6 to 7 passengers die every day after falling from local trains on the Central Railway. According to a statistic, this information that has come to light is very worrying. It is well known that the increasing crowding in local trains is the main reason for this. Still, after such accidents, it will not be possible to blame the passengers for their deaths. The Central Railway Administration should take serious note of this unfortunate incident. The Central Railway also needs to plan the time well and increase the local trains on important routes accordingly. The necessary measures should be implemented immediately for the safety of passengers. To prevent such frequent accidents, the decision to install automatic doors in local trains is expected to be implemented in due time, said Sharad Pawar.
Meanwhile, the Congress has strongly criticized this accident. The daily plight of Mumbaikars due to the derailed triple engine government! The terrible accident that took place today in the local train, which is considered the lifeline of Mumbai, is very sad and heartbreaking. The number of people traveling by Mumbai local is large. Due to this, lakhs of passengers have to travel with their lives in their hands every day. 6 such passengers have unfortunately died in an accident today. The rush of passengers in Mumbai cannot be planned, more trains are not run during rush hour, more lines are not laid there, and the rush increases even more when the train is delayed, instead of paying attention to the problem of Mumbai local, the Railway Minister is only busy making rails, Vijay Wadettiwar has strongly criticized.
