NIA preliminary investigation reveals many shocking revelations

Maharashtra Cyber ??Cell Report: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, a new threat has emerged in the form of cyber warfare before India. A recent report titled 'Echoes of Pahalgam' prepared by the Maharashtra Cyber ??Cell has revealed a huge increase in cyber attacks targeting India. There have been about 10 lakh attempts to breach since April 23. The report shows that the education, defense, banking and communication sectors are the primary targets. After this, all the relevant departments have been alerted.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir, India has been flooded with cyber attacks. The Maharashtra Cyber ??Cell's report titled 'Echoes of Pahalgam Attack' claims that there have been about 10 lakh cyber attacks on India since April 23. Islamic cyber groups operating from countries like Pakistan, the Middle East, Morocco and Indonesia are said to be behind these attacks.
Maharashtra Cyber ??Police ADG Yasvi Yadav said that there has been an unexpected increase in cyber attacks after the Pahalgam attack. There are many cyber attackers attacking India. The most prominent among them is Team Insane PK, which is a Pakistani APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) group. This group has targeted defense related institutions like Army College of Nursing, Sainik Welfare Portals, Army Public Schools.
EAM Insane PK carries out attacks through website defacement, web protocol command and control and CMS exploits. Apart from this, Bangladeshi group Mysterious Team Bangladesh (MTBD) has also carried out major DDoS and DNS flood attacks. Their targets include educational portals, e-governance sites and the banking sector in India.
Indonesian group Indo Hacks Sec has targeted Indian telecom databases and local admin panels and leaked default passwords on the dark web. Groups like Golden Falcon (Middle East-based) and Moroccan Dragons (North Africa) have attacked Indian IT infrastructure through malware and dark web reports.
Threat to critical infrastructure
The main targets of attacks are railways, banking and other critical infrastructure. However, so far, due to strong cyber security in these sectors, major attacks have been prevented. But attacks have been successful where security is weak. The report also revealed information about terabytes of Indian data being leaked on the dark web.
