National Lok Adalat to be held in all courts of the district on March 14
National Lok Adalat Nagpur, Dec. 10: Under the directions of the National Legal Services Committee, Supreme Court and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, High Court, a National Lok Adalat has been organized on March 14 under the guidance of Chief District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of District Legal Services Authority Dinesh P. Surana. This Lok Adalat will be held in all courts of the district. It has been appealed to the parties to keep their pending and pre-filed cases for mutual settlement.
This National Lok Adalat will be held in the district courts as well as all taluka courts of the district, labor courts and industrial courts, family courts, consumer grievance redressal forums and all other courts and tribunals in the joint auspices of the District Legal Services Authority, Nagpur and the Bar Association.
In this National Lok Adalat, civil and criminal cases, motor accident compensation, land acquisition cases, revenue cases, matrimonial disputes, loss and recovery cases of banks and other financial institutions and all pending and pre-filed cases eligible for mediation will be settled through mutual compromise. A panel of judges, expert lawyers and social workers will help the parties to resolve the dispute in Lok Adalat.
There is no fee for filing a case in Lok Adalat. Since there is no appeal against the decision of Lok Adalat, the dispute is resolved permanently. The decision made in Lok Adalat can be enforced through the court as per the court order. The issue of witness evidence, cross-examination, and lengthy arguments in the case are avoided. Settlement of the dispute saves time and money. Also, the hassle of taking the case to court is avoided and justice is provided quickly by mutual consent. The parties should submit an application to the relevant court for the pending cases to be placed in the National Lok Adalat to be held on March 14 and contact the District Legal Services Authority and the Taluka Legal Services Committee office for pre-filing cases and resolve as many cases as possible through mutual compromise, said District Legal Services Authority Secretary Pravin Unhale and Nagpur District Lawyers Association President Roshan Bagde.
