Neem Football Club win Five-A-Side Football tournament
Nagpur:-Neem Football Club edged past DDSYS FC 2-1 to clinch the Five-A-Side Football tournament, organised by Shivbhola Krida Mandal, which concluded at the Shiv Mandir Marartoli Ram Nagar ground here on Sunday.
In an exciting summit clash, DDSYS took the lead in the 8th minute when Harish Choubey found the target.
However, his joy was short-lived as two minutes later Tilak Singh restored parity with a brilliant goal. In the 12th minute experienced Giftson Saji gave 2-1 lead to Neem FC which they maintained till the end.
Towards the end of play, DDSYS tried hard but poor finishing inside the circle undid all their efforts.
Earlier in the semifinals, Neem FC downed DND FC 2-1. Sagar Mishra and Giftson Saji struck in the 21st and 23rd minutes respectively. For DND FC, Gajbhiye scored the solitary goal in the 26th minute.
In the second semis, DDSYS beat Kanojiya FC 1-0. Nakib Akhtar scored an all-important goal in the 15th minute.
Chief Executive Officer of Sandeep Developers Umesh Dhote, former Ranji player Anirudh Palkar, Big Ben director Atmaram Pande, Atul Neware, Siddharth Kale, Rahul Neware, Nayeem Ansari and Ajay Jichkar distributed the prizes.
The champions bagged Rs 10,000, while the runners-up received Rs 7,000 and trophy.
