Only six teams allowed in Los Angeles Olympics 2028

Cricket Olympics:-Like the World Cup, players and teams enter the field with the dream of winning the Olympic title. The Kumbh Mela, a sports festival held every four years, is a place to compete for gold medals. Cricket has now entered the Kumbh Mela. The T20 format cricket competition will be held in the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles. But only six teams will be selected for this competition. The International Olympic Committee clarified that cricket will be introduced for the first time in the 128-year history of the Olympic Games. There will be six teams each in both the men's and women's categories. The ICC T20 teams will qualify based on the ranking. That is, 6 teams will be selected by considering the ICC team ranking at the time of Olympic qualification.
The International Cricket Council will send a list of 12 full-member teams to the Olympic Committee. Based on the ranking of the teams in this list, six teams will be eligible for the Olympics. If any team from a fellow member country finishes in the top-6 of the ICC T20 team rankings in the next two years, that team will qualify. India is currently at the top of the T20 team rankings. Australia is at the second position. England and New Zealand are at the third and fourth positions respectively. West Indies is at the fifth position. South Africa is at the sixth position.
Pakistan is at the seventh position. This means that only the top 6 teams will qualify for the Olympics. If the Pakistani team does not make it to the top 6 in the next year, it will definitely be out of the Olympics. Therefore, the upcoming T20 series will be very important for the Pakistan team.
