Parth Pawar scam: Not an election conspiracy, part of a natural investigation - Chandrakant Patil's disclosure

Pimpri Chinchwad, November 7, 2025: There is currently a lot of controversy in Maharashtra politics over the issue of land scams. Especially the alleged land scam case of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar has heated up the political atmosphere. Many leaders and activists are accusing Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of raising this issue with an eye on the elections. However, senior BJP leader and Marathwada Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Patil has clearly clarified this. He said that this scam was not carried out by Fadnavis or the BJP. It has come to light naturally and will be investigated. This disclosure was made during a review of the development projects of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, in which Patil discussed with local office bearers.
Political allegations and counter-allegations in the backdrop of the scam
The allegations of land scam against Parth Pawar have been in the news for the last few weeks. The case is said to be related to the purchase and sale of some lands in Pune district. The opposition claims that the BJP has raised this issue in the backdrop of the Maharashtra assembly elections, so that it will shock the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Especially because of Ajit Pawar's participation in the grand alliance, the issue has become more sensitive. However, Chandrakant Patil completely denied this. He said, "Some things come to light. They do not have to be brought out. This scam was not brought out by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis or the BJP. It has come to light on its own. It will be investigated, but the allegation of political motive is completely wrong."
Patil's disclosure was made during a review of various development projects of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The meeting was attended by officials from the engineering department of the municipal corporation, local BJP office bearers and former corporators. Patil reviewed the progress of the projects and asked for reasons for the delayed work. After this, while talking to the media, he commented on the issue of scam. His statement has sparked a new debate in local politics. Although Congress and Nationalist Party leaders criticized the BJP over this, Patil firmly said that it was not a political conspiracy.
Municipal Election Strategy: Focus on Hybrid Alliance
Along with the issue of scam, Patil also gave important information about the upcoming Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections. He said that the grand alliance will fight a friendly fight in the municipal elections. In the wards where an alliance is possible, we will fight together, while in the remaining wards we will stand on our own. This is the strategy of the 'hybrid alliance'. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has reviewed the local body elections across Maharashtra and has directed to fight as a grand alliance.
Patil elaborated, "Chief Minister Fadnavis toured the state and took an hour to review each district. He is of the opinion that, if possible, the elections should be fought as a grand alliance. Where that is not possible, a hybrid alliance should be formed. There are 32 wards in Pimpri Chinchwad. Out of these, we should fight together in at least 22 wards. We can fight on our own in the remaining 10 wards. In the wards where any party has more strength, they should stand independently." Patil mentioned that this strategy will be a guide for the allied parties in the grand alliance.
Patil's three-day tour: Guidance to local activists
Chandrakant Patil's tour of Pimpri Chinchwad is three days long. On the first day, a review of the Chinchwad assembly constituency was conducted on Friday (November 6). On Saturday (November 8) and Sunday (November 9), a review of the Pimpri and Bhosari assembly constituencies will be conducted. In each of these meetings, local office bearers, activists and former corporators will be guided regarding the municipal elections. Patil said that the purpose of this visit is to strengthen the election preparations and discuss local issues. "We are constantly trying to increase the strength of the Mahayuti. We will move forward only by focusing on development issues in industrial cities like Pimpri Chinchwad," he told the workers directly.
During this visit, Patil also made suggestions regarding various projects of the Municipal Corporation. For example, he directed to focus on basic facilities like road construction, water supply and waste management. He said, "Citizens are suffering due to lack of development. It is necessary to complete these projects before the elections and provide relief to the citizens." These suggestions are said to have created enthusiasm among the Municipal Corporation officials.
Political Analysis: Mahayuti's Policies and Challenges
Since the formation of the Mahayuti government, various scam issues have been a source of controversy in Maharashtra politics. The Parth Pawar case is one of them. The opposition claims that the BJP has raised this issue to weaken Ajit Pawar's party. However, Chandrakant Patil's explanation has weakened this claim. According to political analysts, the scam is real and will be investigated at the judicial level. "The BJP did not use this issue for elections, but it came up for transparency," said Patil.
