People have become habituated to begging... MP minister's statement creates ruckus in Rajgarh

Rajgarh:A statement by Madhya Pradesh's Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel has created a political stir. In fact, on Saturday, Minister Prahlad Patel attended the unveiling ceremony of Avantibai Lodhi's statue in Muthaliya of Rajgarh district as the chief guest. During this, in his greeting, Minister Patel termed the demands of the people as 'begging'.
He said, "Now people have become habituated to begging from the government. Leaders come, they are given a basket full of demand letters. This is not a good habit. Develop the mindset of giving instead of taking. I say with confidence, you will be happy and will create a cultured society. Encouraging beggars is not strengthening the society, but weakening it."
He said, 'Attraction towards free things is not respect for brave women.' Minister Patel also said from the stage that people will have to be self-reliant to strengthen the society. He said, "The more the attraction towards free things, it is not respect for the brave women, but a mentality to weaken the society."
The opposition Congress has reacted strongly to Prahlad Patel's statement. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari criticized the minister and said that his comment is an insult to the people of the state. Patwari sharply criticized, "The arrogance of the BJP has reached such a level that they have now started calling the public beggars. This is an insult to the hopes and tears of the people struggling with difficulties. They make false promises before the elections and then refuse to fulfill them. When the public reminds them, they shamelessly call them beggars! They should remember - soon, these same BJP leaders will come to ask for votes!"
