Police is not a panacea for disputes between husband and wife.

-Supreme Court said a big thing, said - save marriage with restraint
New Delhi. The Supreme Court, while giving its verdict on Friday, canceled the dowry harassment case filed by a woman against her husband. During this, the judge said that tolerance and respect are the foundation of a good marriage and minor disputes should not be blown out of proportion.
A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra said that the first thing that comes to the mind of the woman, her parents and relatives is the police. As if the police is the panacea for all evils. The bench said that as soon as the matter reaches the police, the possibility of reconciliation between husband and wife is destroyed. The court also said that children are the main victims of disputes between husband and wife.
Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in its order, dismissed a husband's plea seeking quashing of the criminal case registered against him. The Supreme Court overturned the High Court's decision.
The court said that many times a married woman's parents and close relatives make a big deal out of it. Instead of handling the situation and saving the marriage, their actions on small matters destroy the marital bond completely.
The court said that the husband and wife fight with so much poison in their hearts that they do not think even for a moment about what will be the impact on their children if the marriage ends. We try to initiate criminal proceedings instead of handling the entire matter delicately. This will bring nothing but hatred for each other.
