Possibility of thunderstorms and rain in many parts of Maharashtra today; IMD issues 'Yellow Alert'

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is forecast for several districts in Mumbai, Pune, Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.
Following the monsoon's onset, heavy rainfall was recorded in many parts of the state, including Mumbai and Konkan. However, over the last day or two, there has been a lull in rainfall across most regions. Concerns have risen among citizens as the rainfall in June has been 59% below average. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in rainfall intensity between July 1 and July 4, particularly along the Konkan coast. Rainfall is expected to be more intense in the southern Konkan region.

Marathwada: Ahilyanagar, Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Vidarbha: Buldhana, Washim, Akola, Yavatmal, Amravati, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia
Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in some areas during this period. There is hope that farmers and the general public will find relief as rainfall intensity increases in the first week of July.
