RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s significant statement on the LGBTQ+ community

RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat’s significant statement on the LGBTQ+ community: "Nature created them; they too have the right to live with dignity."
Hyderabad – RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has articulated a clear stance regarding the LGBTQ+ community. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad on Sunday, he stated that this community has always been an integral part of Indian society. Instead of isolating them, they should be accepted with dignity.
Bhagwat said, "The LGBTQ+ community and others like it exist in society. Some things are determined by nature itself; neither we nor they can do anything about it. Nature has created them that way. Some traits emerge later due to mindset or bodily changes. This exists all over the world; we cannot claim it did not exist here."
He further added, "They too have the right to live. They are not to be alienated from society; there is a place for them within the broader social framework. Do not view them with a negative gaze. Shikhandi was a king who went to fight alongside warriors; our tradition had a place for such individuals."
Citing Indian tradition, Bhagwat noted that there are deities, shrines, and even *Mahamandaleshwars* belonging to such communities, and they participate in the Kumbh Mela. "They are a part of our society. We have established a system that fosters empathy towards them, without making unnecessary noise or creating a commotion about it," he clarified.
The Sarsanghchalak also remarked that while new questions arise in modern times, everything remains in order if viewed through a holistic and unified perspective.
