Roadshow in Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni; Vote for DMK, Strengthen the 'Dravidian Model 2.0': Udhayanidhi
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin held a spirited roadshow on Friday within his Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly constituency. While campaigning in support of candidates from the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA), he stated, "Electing the DMK candidate is tantamount to ensuring my own victory."
Udhayanidhi Stalin is contesting the election from this constituency for the second time. He appealed to the public, noting that despite being a candidate himself, he is currently traversing the entire state seeking votes for the alliance's candidates in order to establish a 'Dravidian Model 2.0' government. "Although I have not yet commenced campaigning in my own constituency with full intensity, I am confident that you will ensure the victory of DMK candidates by a massive margin," he expressed.
This constituency was formerly represented by the late Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Karunanidhi had secured three consecutive victories from this seat in 1996, 2001, and 2006. In the 2021 elections, Udhayanidhi Stalin emerged victorious from this very constituency.
During the campaign, Udhayanidhi strongly criticized the statement made by E.K. Palaniswami—General Secretary of the opposition AIADMK—regarding Kanimozhi. The DMK asserted that such statements betray the opposition's fear of impending defeat. Palaniswami had remarked that Kanimozhi might have to return to Tihar Jail, a comment that drew a sharp rebuke from the DMK.
This roadshow by Udhayanidhi Stalin is an integral part of the DMK's aggressive election campaign strategy. He is touring the length and breadth of the state with the objective of securing a landslide victory for the party.
