SDOP shot dead in Manipur

Imphal. A police officer was shot at in Moreh area of Manipur's Tengnoupal district on Tuesday, October 31. Moreh's SDOP Chingtham Anand Kuki-who was visiting the community-influenced area.
Police said that SDOP Anand had gone to inspect the newly constructed helipad in Border Town. During this, a group of tribal militants opened fire on them. The SDOP was taken to the hospital after being shot, where he died.
In fact, for several weeks some civil society organizations of Moreh had been demanding the removal of security forces from the Border Town area. After this such an incident has come to light. Now the police is conducting a search operation to catch the militants in the area.
FIR against members of Joint Students Body
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against the members of the Joint Students Body who declared Friday as a public holiday.
Security forces seized many weapons
Security forces conducted raids in Imphal-East and Churachandpur on Monday 30 October and seized arms and explosives. Security forces have recovered 14 weapons, 41 hand grenades, 5 empty cartridges and 2 heavy mortars from the area. These also included two 9 mm pistols.
