
ST News: New code of conduct implemented for official hotel-motel stops of ST, now 'these' things are mandatory
Mumbai: Transport Minister and ST Corporation Chairman Pratap Sarnaik had suddenly visited the official hotel stop of ST two days ago while on a tour of Pandharpur. He expressed his strong displeasure about the facilities and amenities of the passengers there. Due to this, the ST Corporation, which woke up with a jolt, has immediately issued a circular and issued a new code of conduct for such hotel-motel stops throughout the state.
From now on, the new hotel stop will be approved through a transparent tender process. Moreover, this approval will be given for 3 years. But after 1 year, the services and facilities at the relevant hotel stop will be reviewed again. After that, the extension of the period for the next 2 years will be considered. Also, while selecting this hotel stop, it will be mentioned in the tender process that cleanliness, quality of food and parking arrangements for buses should be given priority.
Also, while recommending this hotel stop, the depot manager, divisional traffic officer and divisional controller of that area are expected to meet and inspect it in person. The concerned hotel stop will be approved on the basis of their factual report. Therefore, if any passenger complaint arises in the future regarding this hotel stop, strict action will be taken by fixing the responsibility on the concerned officers.
Also, a provision has been made that an FIR will be filed against the concerned hotel for cheating the corporation. Also, instructions have been given by the central office to inspect this hotel stop from time to time through the route inspection team. The ST Corporation has issued a new hotel-motel policy with the dual purpose of selecting this hotel stop so that the passengers get proper facilities and also to increase the revenue of the ST Corporation from it.
