Mumbai: The anti-narcotics squad of Sakinaka police station in Mumbai has taken a major action against drug smugglers. The police have busted a secret manufacturing factory of MD drugs operating in Mysore city in Karnataka. A total of 192.53 kg of MD drugs have been seized so far in this operation, the estimated value of which in the international market is around Rs 390 crore. The police have arrested four accused in this operation.
Secret mission of Sakinaka police
Officers of the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Sakinaka police station, with the help of Mysore city police, raided a factory manufacturing MDMA drugs. MD drugs were being manufactured in this factory. The factory was raided on Saturday, and 192.53 kg of MD drugs worth Rs 390 crore were seized in this raid. The police have arrested four people in this operation.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parmeshwar has confirmed the news of this operation carried out by the Maharashtra Police in coordination with the Mysore Police. Speaking to reporters in Davangere, he gave information about this operation. Speaking to reporters, Parmeshwar said, "This has happened in our state. Where did they supply these drugs? How long have they been operating? Was it newly started? All these things will be investigated. Since when was this factory operating? "
The investigation that started from Kaman reached Mysore
On April 24, 2025, a case was registered under the NDPS Act at Sakinaka police station. The case was registered against a person who had come to sell drugs. During the preliminary investigation, 4.053 kg of MD and drug manufacturing equipment were seized from Kaman village in Palghar, which was worth about Rs 8.04 crore. Initially, three accused were arrested in this.
Action after Salim Langda's tip
After this, another accused in this syndicate, Salim Imtiaz Sheikh alias Salim Langda (age 45, resident of Bandra West, Mumbai), was arrested on July 25. During interrogation, Salim revealed that he was purchasing MD drugs from Mysore, Karnataka. Based on this information, the police team, with the help of technical analysis and intelligence information, raided a secret factory on Mysore Ring Road. This MD manufacturing factory in Mysore was being run in a blue shed, behind a garage. It was hidden in such a way that no one from outside could get an idea about it. Sakinaka police seized a large quantity of drugs and manufacturing materials from there.
