new Delhi. The central government has taken a big decision on Sammed Shikhar, the holy pilgrimage site of the Jain community located in Parasnath, Jharkhand. According to the Centre, it will no longer be a tourist area. In the notification issued by the Union Environment Ministry, instructions have been given to ban all tourism and eco-tourism activity. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav has informed about this through Twitter.
The central government has withdrawn its order issued three years ago on Thursday. On the second page of a two-page letter issued today on January 5 by the Ministry of Environment, Government of India, it is written, 'The implementation of the provisions of Clause-3 of the Eco-Sensitive Zone Notification is immediately banned, in which all other tourism and Eco-tourism activities are included. The state government is directed to take all necessary steps immediately to ensure this.

The central government formed a monitoring committee. The state government has been asked to invite two members from the Jain community and one member from the local tribal group as permanent members to join the committee.
Jain community was agitating against the decision
The Jain community has been agitating for the last few days against the declaration of Sammed peak as a tourist area. Many Jain monks have also started fast unto death against this. In this, Jain sage Sugyesagar Maharaj had also sacrificed his life on Tuesday.
