Kumar is the vice-captain for the Sri Lanka tour
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced Team India for the tour of Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan will lead India in the tour, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the team's vice-captain. Fast bowlers Chetan Sakaria, Nitish Rana, Devdutt Padikal and Krishnappa Gautam have been included in Team India for the first time along with Rituraj Gaikwad. The Indian team will play a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka in July.

The Indian team will play a series of three ODIs and three T20I matches in Sri Lanka from July 13 to 25. ODIs will be played on July 13, 16 and 18 and T20 matches on July 21, 23 and 25. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikal, Rituraj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Nitish Rana, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson have been named in the squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. All-rounders include Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and K Gautam. Among the bowlers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chetan Sakaria, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Varun Chakraborty, Kuldeep Yadav, Rahul Chahar and Yujvendra Chahal have been given a chance.
For the first time in the history of Indian cricket, Team India will play two series at the same time. The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, is currently on a tour of England. There, Team India will play the final of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand and then a five-match Test series against England. On the other hand, Team India will be touring Sri Lanka at the same time. This has given a place to the same players on the Sri Lanka tour who are not part of the Indian Test team.
