Special subsidy for women farmers in complementary businesses – Sunetra Pawar
Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar announced that a decision will be taken to provide special subsidy to complementary businesses in order to economically empower women farmers and rural women in the state. She gave this information at a program organized on the occasion of International Women's Day and International Women Farmers Year 2026.
Speaking at a seminar organized on the topic of "Empowerment of Women Farmers" at Vidhan Bhavan, Pawar said that the government will implement special schemes to increase the participation of women in businesses linked to agriculture such as dairy farming, poultry farming, agro-processing industry, food processing, and small-scale industries. These schemes will focus on providing financial assistance, training, and markets to women.
Women farmers in the state contribute greatly to the family economy. Therefore, it is necessary to promote their industries, Pawar said. The government is implementing various initiatives to make women in rural areas self-sufficient and he expressed confidence that these initiatives will help increase women's income.
It is hoped that this initiative will encourage women's entrepreneurship in rural areas and will also increase employment generation through complementary businesses.
