State-level exhibition features garlands of lotus flowers, pickled eight mushrooms, peanut chutney and bread
Nagpur, Dec. 10: The year-round garlands of lotus flowers of the women's self-help group in Beed, mushroom pickles prepared by the Kalmeshwar self-help group in Nagpur district by growing eight mushrooms, peanut chutney and dry millet-sorghum bread from Solapur, dried flax from Buldhana and gram from Washim, and export-ready flame grapes and raisins from Nashik are among the stalls displayed at the Mahalaxmi Mahasaras exhibition starting today at the Reshimbagh ground here. Through this, Nagpur residents will get a feast of diverse dishes and products from different parts of the state.
The State Government's Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, the State Mission Management Cell of Umed Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission and the District Rural Development Mechanism of Nagpur Zilla Parishad have jointly organized the 'State Level Mahalaxmi Saras 2026 Exhibition' at Reshimbagh Maidan from March 11 to 23. Various items produced by women from handicrafts will be sold in the exhibition and Nagpur residents will get to taste the food culture of Maharashtra. A total of 370 stalls have been set up in this exhibition, including 100 stalls of food items and 270 stalls of household items.
In Hall No. 'D', the stall of Sanchita Mhaske of Durga Mata Swayam Sahayata Group from Beed will be a special attraction because of her attractive flower garlands. Customers will get the opportunity to buy flower garlands directly at this stall without using any kind of plastic or unnatural materials. Talmali is an aster-like flower and garlands made from it that last at least a year are for sale here.
The women of Bhakti Self-Help Group in Kalameshwar in Nagpur district have cultivated aster mushrooms and made products from them. Usha Belsare and Yojana Denge, who brought dried Ashtar mushrooms and pickled products of the same mushrooms, are confident that this new product will sell well at the Saras exhibition.
Archana Gawande of Lakshmi Self-Help Group in Washim will also have a stall with dried dates, barfi, kharodya, vada, pitha kuralaya and especially dried gram vegetables. Jai Bhavani Group in Buldana will be exhibiting dried flax vegetables so that customers can sell these special vegetables. Chemical-free flame grapes and grapes from these grapes, which are exported to Europe, Russia and Dubai, are seen at the stall of Soham Group in Nashik. Mama Jumbo variety black and Sonaka variety natural mango are also available for sale here.
At the stall of Radhakrishna group in Solapur, Rani and Sakshi Belsare were seen arranging mother-daughter peanut chutney and bajri-jowari hard bread. These breads stay intact for about three months and peanut chutney also lasts for a long time, so there is no doubt that many customers will turn to this stall. Roasted bajri and soybean made from millet grains at the Mamta group in Jalgaon and the stall of chemical free lentils, tur, gram, urad dal of the Pragati group in Buldhana will also be an attraction for everyone.
The registration of women self-help groups in 34 districts of the state has been completed today. Handloom and handicraft items, clay pots, Kolhapuri slippers, Bhiwapuri chillies, tridhanya, kaldhanya etc. products have been put up for sale. Mahalaxmi Saras Exhibition is being organized to provide economic strength to all the rural women's industries coming from the state and to provide a large market to women.
The main objective of Mahalaxmi Saras Exhibition is to provide a proper market to the products made by women in self-help groups and rural artisans in the state. Through this, the people of urban areas are being provided with authentic indigenous-rural goods/materials through the exhibition. Nagpur Mahalaxmi Saras Exhibition will be of great help in providing a market to the self-help groups of Vidarbha and in boosting their productivity and professionalism.
