Strict Action Against Fertilizer Hoarders

- Licenses of 43 Fertilizer Sales Centers Suspended**
**Nagpur, 20th:** The Agriculture Department is currently implementing a rigorous campaign to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted supply of agricultural inputs and fertilizers to farmers in the division during the ongoing Kharif season. This information was provided by Umesh Ghadge, Joint Director of the Agriculture Department.
For the six districts within this division, sowing has been planned across an area of ??19.53 lakh hectares for the current Kharif season. The government has sanctioned a supply of 7.100 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers for this season. Consequently, no farmer is expected to face any shortage of fertilizers or seeds of any kind.
**Notices Issued to 183 Fertilizer Sales Centers**
As part of this campaign, notices were served to 183 fertilizer sales centers across the division. Additionally, the licenses of 43 fertilizer sales centers were suspended, and criminal cases were registered against two sales centers. An appeal was issued urging against the hoarding of unnecessary fertilizers. Furthermore, farmers were advised to purchase only the quantity of fertilizers and seeds required for their immediate needs during the Kharif season, and to strictly refrain from creating excess stock under any circumstances. Farmers were also urged not to rely solely on Urea and DAP fertilizers when planning their fertilizer requirements, but to instead utilize other alternative and complex fertilizers. Mr. Ghadge also appealed to fertilizer sales centers to restrict their sales exclusively to farmers within their respective districts, to conduct sales transactions using machines (POS devices), and to maintain a proper stock register documenting their actual physical inventory.
