UAE Announces Massive ?24 Lakh Crore Investment in India; Major Plan to Bolster Energy Security, Target to Double Trade by 2032

New Delhi: Economic and strategic ties between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are strengthening further. The UAE has once again announced a massive additional investment of ?24,003.5 billion (approximately ?24 lakh crore) in India. This investment will significantly bolster India's energy security reserves. Simultaneously, a roadmap has been prepared to double bilateral trade between the two nations.
Against the backdrop of the crisis in West Asia, the UAE is preparing to invest in India's strategic petroleum reserves, LPG, LNG, and subsea gas pipelines. Efforts are underway to establish a direct supply of crude oil and natural gas from the UAE to India via a pipeline running beneath the Arabian Sea. Furthermore, both nations are working towards making the UAE India's largest supplier of LPG and LNG. The UAE is also making substantial investments to expand India's strategic petroleum reserves.
Target of $200 Billion by 2032
Both India and the UAE are members of BRICS. A target has been set to double India-UAE trade to $200 billion by 2032. Under this initiative, investments will be encouraged in sectors such as ports, shipbuilding, space, food security, logistics, fintech, and artificial intelligence.
