Unveiling of Late Umesh Babu Chaubey's Portrait at the Journalists' Association

Nagpur, April 17: The portrait of the late Umesh Babu Chaubey—a veteran journalist, social worker, and tenacious activist of the older generation—was ceremoniously unveiled today at the Tilak Patrakar Bhavan, the premises of the Nagpur Shramik Patrakar Sangh (Working Journalists' Association). Presiding over this event, organized on the occasion of Umesh Babu's 95th birth anniversary, was Pradeep Kumar Maitra, Chairman of the Tilak Patrakar Bhavan Management Committee. The Committee's Vice-Chairman, Prabhakar Dupare, and Harish Deshmukh of the Anti-Superstition Committee attended as the chief guests. All three speakers paid glowing tributes to Umesh Babu, recalling his memories and highlighting his ceaseless struggle to secure justice for the poor and downtrodden, as well as his fight against regressive social customs. Anupam Soni, General Secretary of the Journalists' Association, proposed the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the program. Umesh Babu's family members, admirers, and former colleagues were present in large numbers to attend the event. Those present on this occasion included Neeraj Chaubey, Tanuj Chaubey, Vijay Kadam, Dnyaneshwar Gurav, Vikrant Mohare, Naresh Nimje, Rajesh Kumbhalkar, Nitin Ronghe, Dilip Narwadiya, Ram Shivankar, Keshavrao Madhumatke, Nikhil Bhute, Raju Pimpalkar, Nandu Lekurwale, Goldie Shaikh, Mukund Mule, and Yogita Shende.
