Dongargarh. After Acharya Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj entered Maha Samadhi, his ashes were collected on Tuesday. The bones are kept in an urn after purification. Acharya Shri was absorbed in Maha Samadhi at 2:35 pm on Saturday 17th February. His body was cremated on the afternoon of Sunday 18 February.
In Jainism, ashes are not immersed in water. Acharya ji's ashes will be buried in the ground. His mausoleum will be built at the same place. Earlier, Vidyasagar ji's followers were offering coconut and taking Bhabhuti to the funeral site. People from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and other states are reaching Dongargarh.
The throne will be handed over to Muni Samay Sagar Maharaj
Acharya Vidyasagar ji had resigned from the post of Acharya on 6 February after discussing with Muni Yoga Sagar. He had announced to give the post of Acharya to Muni Samay Sagar Ji Maharaj. After Muni Samay Sagar Maharaj reaches Chandragiri Teerth, he will be formally handed over the throne of Acharya.
Muni Samay Sagar Maharaj, who was made the successor of Vidyasagar ji, reached Rawal Wadi in Maharashtra on Tuesday. He will travel on foot with 43 sadhus and reach Dogargarh from Balaghat on 22 February. There he will be formally handed over the throne of Acharya.
The process of arrival of saints from across the country continues
Kishore Kumar Jain, President of Jain Chandragrih Teerth Kshetra Trust and Prakash Chandra Jain, President of Pratibha Sthali said that all the saints from across the country are coming on Pad Yatra. Kirti Ravindra Jain of Digambar community, the head of Hastinapur, arrived at the Vinyanjali meeting held on Monday, 19 February. He is the brother of Gyanmati Mata.

There were 9 people in the team treating Vidyasagar ji. There were two Nadi Vaidyas in it. On February 6, Acharya Shri had asked Vaidya how much time he had, then Vaidya had told that his pulse was telling that he did not have much life left.
After that, on the same day, Acharya Shri sent the accompanying monks separately and discussed with Niryapak Shravan Muni Yoga Sagar Ji and retired from Sangha related work. On the same day, he resigned from the post of Acharya and gave the post of Acharya to Samay Sagar Maharaj.
After this, Acharya Vidyasagar ji had formally adopted Sallekhana from the day of Vasant Panchami. He had given up food and Sangha by fasting while he was awake. He also maintained unbroken silence.
