Nagpur: The constant quarrels that began after the wedding of a newlywed couple finally reached a tragic point. The wife committed suicide by hanging herself in Bengaluru, while her husband, frightened by threats from her family, ended his life in a hotel in Nagpur. This heartbreaking incident occurred at the Hotel Royal Villa on Wardha Road, and the police have registered a case of accidental death and started an investigation.

Suraj Shivanna (30, resident of Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru) runs a hotel business in Bengaluru. A month and a half ago, he married a young woman named Ganvi alias Rashi. However, there were frequent arguments between the two since the wedding. Due to these disputes, Ganvi committed suicide in Bengaluru. After her death, on December 22, her family members rushed to Suraj's house and filed a complaint against him and threatened him. This caused Suraj immense mental stress. He reached Nagpur via Hyderabad with his mother Jayanti Shivanna (60) and elder brother Sanjay Shivanna (36).
The horrific turn in Nagpur:
On December 26, at 9:30 PM, the three booked rooms number 102 and 103 at Hotel Royal Villa. Suraj and his mother were resting in room 103, while his brother Sanjay was in the adjacent room. At 12:15 AM, mother Jayanti went to Sanjay and told him that Suraj had hanged himself using a dupatta tied to the fan. When Sanjay rushed into the room, he saw Suraj's lifeless body hanging from the fan. Seeing this, the mother also tried to commit suicide, but Sanjay stopped her in time.
As soon as the hotel management was informed of the incident, the Sonegaon police arrived at the scene. They conducted a preliminary examination of the body and sent it to AIIMS hospital for post-mortem. As there was no suspicion in the case, a case of accidental death has been registered and an investigation has been launched. However, the true story of the dispute is emerging from the statements of Suraj's family members.

The Sonegaon police have started investigating Suraj's mobile phone, luggage, and the statements of his family members. They are also contacting the Bengaluru police to gather information about his wife's suicide case.
