Women became a big issue in this election Harassment, 'taint' on many parties

New Delhi. To win this electoral Mahabharata, all political parties have placed a big bet on women. Every party has claimed to start special schemes for women if they come to power. But the experience so far shows that this election has taken a heavy toll on the dignity of daughters.
In this election, leaders of many political parties including BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Janata Dal Secular and Trinamool Congress were accused of harassing women. The Revanna incident and the Sandeshkhali incident shocked the hearts of the people. But almost all the political parties termed the allegations against their leaders as a conspiracy by other parties and described the other parties as neglecting the honor and safety of women.
allegations against BJP
The most talked about case in this election was Prajjwal Revanna sex scandal. The sex tape of Janata Dal (Secular) candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha seat Prajjwal Revanna created a stir in Karnataka politics. Due to its alliance with BJP, it also came under attack from the opposition in this matter. Congress accused BJP of supporting the sex scandal accused. But, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah immediately talked about their party standing with women power.
BJP also attacked the Congress government of Karnataka for keeping Revanna's case pending till now and allowing Revanna, the culprit of thousands of women, to flee abroad. It remains to be seen what impact the Revanna incident has on the elections in Karnataka.
Congress also surrounded
Congress has also cornered BJP on the issue of violence against women in Manipur and harassment of women players by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. BJP may have to suffer losses due to this also. But Congress is also equally surrounded by the issue of women harassment.
Former Congress leader Radhika Kheda has made serious allegations against her own party's Chhattisgarh leaders of harassing her in the party's Raipur office. He even said that he informed many big leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Jairam Ramesh about the harassment he faced, but no one listened to him and did not provide him justice. Finally Radhika Kheda joined BJP.
Heavy message on Mamata Banerjee
Mamata Banerjee still remains the strongest player in West Bengal, but her party leader Shahjahan Shaikh has faced serious allegations of forcibly establishing physical relations with many women of Sandeshkhali. BJP raised this issue very strongly and alleged harassment of women by its own party leaders during Mamata Banerjee's rule.
At the same time, Trinamool Congress has called it a conspiracy by BJP. But it is believed that Mamata Banerjee may have to suffer a big loss due to the Sandeshkhali scandal.
Kejriwal surrounded by Swati Maliwal controversy
Aam Aadmi Party is also surrounded by serious allegations of women harassment. The party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was allegedly assaulted by Chief Minister's PA Bibhav Kumar at the official residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Swati Maliwal has accused Kejriwal of committing violence on her. But Aam Aadmi Party has termed it as a conspiracy by BJP.
At the same time, BJP has said that this is an internal matter of Aam Aadmi Party. BJP says that Kejriwal who cannot give justice to the woman MP of his own party, what justice will he do to the women of Delhi.
Why is the harassment happening?
Former Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Mamta Sharma said that the truth is that more paperwork is being done in the matter of women empowerment, whereas in reality no work is being done. Even today men are not ready to accept women as their equal. Women harassment cells are not being formed even within political parties. Where women harassment cells have been formed, they are not working effectively. Its major impact is that even today women are being exploited on every platform. He said that in this matter all parties should come together and find a solution to this problem. They should think that every house has a daughter and if proper system is not made then every daughter will remain under the scope of women oppression.
All parties should come together on women harassment
Social women's rights activist Ambar Zaidi said that it is unfortunate that even the country's largest political parties are not serious about solving this problem. Whenever the matter of their party comes up, women leaders also give statements according to their party line instead of that of the victim. They feel that in case of women harassment, all people should unite and raise their voice, only then women can be saved from harassment.
