Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer empowered to procure corona related items - Minister for Rural Development
Mumbai: At present, due to the corona, there are restrictions on procurement committee and standing committee meetings in all parts of the state. Therefore, it has been decided to give the power of expenditure to the Standing Committee and Zilla Parishad only to the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad till further orders for procurement of Corona prevention matters, said Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif.
The Standing Committee of the Zilla Parishad has been given the authority to approve purchases up to Rs. 50 lakhs and the Zilla Parishad has been given the authority to approve purchases up to Rs. 50 lakhs. But at present, due to Corona, there are restrictions on procurement committee and standing committee meetings of Zilla Parishads all over the state. However, corona preventive measures are important. Therefore, it has been decided to retain all the other provisions in the relevant G.R. It has been suggested that appropriate action should be taken in the procurement of Corona Prevention matters keeping in view the relevant Government Resolutions as well as the provisions of the Government Resolutions issued by the Government from time to time. A ruling in this regard has been issued yesterday.
The decision comes in the wake of a quick decision to bring the Corona situation under control in rural areas. Various measures are being implemented by the Rural Development Department for the safety of the rural citizens in the catastrophic situation of Corona. Mushrif also said that 25 per cent of the 15th Finance Commission's funds would be used to set up a segregation cell in the Gram Panchayat area.
