Bundelkhand area of Madhya Pradesh is still backward. Many times cases of caste discrimination have come up from here, once again a similar case has come up from here. In a school in Chhatarpur, students are facing caste discrimination during mid-day meal. The children allege that the woman who cooks food in the school throws away rotis. They are served food at the end and often hot chapatis are also kept on hand. The entire case is related to a government primary school at Dalit Vasti in Budour village of the district.
Children studying in the school have alleged that apart from being discriminated against in meditation food, they are also being untouchable. A student said, the food here is not good, only potato bhaji, dal and roti are made everyday. Chapatis are thrown at us. After this matter came to light, the district administration team reached the school and an inquiry was ordered into the matter. After these allegations were confirmed, the midday meal group itself was disbanded.
DPC of Education Department RP Lakhera said that we all reached the spot. Talked to school children. Had dinner with them. Along with this, it was decided that whenever meals are prepared in the school, these children will distribute those meals for the first time. A situation like untouchability should not arise in the future. A letter has been given to all the schools in the district for this. Even after this, if such repetition is found anywhere, the teachers will also be held guilty.
