Upgradation of 61 aided ashram schools
approval to do
Upgradation of 61 tribal aided ashram schools in the state was approved in the cabinet meeting held today. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting.
17 aided primary ashram schools will be upgraded as secondary ashram schools from 2024-25. Also, class 8th from 2024-25, class 9th from 2025-26 and class 10th from 2026-27 will be started. 44 aided Madhyamik Ashram Schools are being approved to start affiliated Junior Colleges (Arts & Science). 11th class will be started from 2024-25 and 12th class in 2025-26.
This decision was taken to provide secondary and higher secondary education facilities in ashram schools in order to reduce the dropout rate of tribal students and to increase the quality of education among girls.

To uplift the standard of living of tribals
Employment, Self Employment Scheme
In order to raise the standard of living of tribals in the state, it was decided to start 2 schemes for establishing employment, self-employment and agricultural production companies in the cabinet meeting held today. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting.
These 2 schemes will be implemented through Shabari Tribal Finance and Development Corporation. In the first of these schemes, loans up to 5 lakhs will be provided for self-employment on the lines of National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi for starting passenger vehicles, mini trucks, trucks and tractors, cargo electric rickshaws as well as agriculture related businesses, automobiles, hotels, dhabas. The interest rate on this will be as fixed by NSTFDC. In the second scheme, 60 farmer production companies will be established in the next 3 years and a total of 18,000 tribal beneficiaries will be benefited from them.

To employees of private recognized schools
Assured Progress Scheme
A decision was taken in the Cabinet meeting held today to implement Assured Progress Scheme for the employees of private recognized schools in the state. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting. 53 crore 86 lakh expenditure for this was also approved.
Non-teaching staff in aided schools have been given time-bound promotions since 1994. The State Government has implemented an In-Service Assured Progression Scheme for the State Government Employees from October 1, 2006. On the same lines, this scheme of 2 benefits will also be implemented for non-teaching staff in these schools from 1st January 2024.

Additional electricity rebate applicable to machines
The decision to apply additional power concession to looms was taken in the Cabinet meeting held today. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over the meeting.
Additional power rebate of 75 paise per unit will be given to machines having output more than 27 HP (Horse Power) but less than 201 AHP. An additional power charge of Rs 1 per unit will be levied on machines having less than 27 loads. This power concession will be applicable to looms with a combined power of less than 27 HP as well as to industries with a power of more than 27 HP but less than 201 HP whose looms shall be registered with the Department of Textiles and approved. Relief to BDD slum dwellers and slum dwellers
Will reduce stamp duty
A decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held today to reduce the stamp duty on the contracts of non-resident gale holders and hut holders in BDD chali. This stamp duty will be charged nominally 1 thousand.
A nominal fee of Rs 1,000 will be levied on lease agreements for redeveloped plots and alternative premises with non-resident plot holders in BDD chali and non-resident slum holders in the locality.

At Mahalakshmi Race Course
International standard Mumbai Central Park
The Cabinet meeting held today approved the development of an international standard Mumbai Central Park by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the 120 acres of Mahalakshmi Race Course in Mumbai. The park will be developed on the lines of parks in New York (USA), London (UK) on 120 acres of Mahalakshmi Racecourse's 211 acres.
This land will be handed over to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation through the government and an international standard Mumbai Central Park will be developed for the public by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
May .Royal Western India Turf Club Ltd. at Mahalakshmi Race Course. The agreement on the leased plot was approved for renewal of the lease for a period from June 1, 2013 to the date of actual possession of the said plot. Similarly, the amount of the difference of the amount payable for the said period will be recovered by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation as per the rate fixed by the Revenue and Forest Department.
Also, out of the total 211 acre plot at Mahalakshmi Race Course, M.Royal Western India Turf Club Ltd. Pursuant to the grant of lease for a further period of 30 years from the date of actual possession of the 91 acre plot, the said lease may be renewed in accordance with such provisions as may be prescribed from time to time.
