68 centers for senior citizens in the district - Vaccination of two and a half lakh beneficiaries

Nagpur, Dec 12: A special campaign is being implemented in the district to vaccinate eligible citizens above 60 years of age while effectively implementing corona prevention measures in rural areas. Under this campaign, 68 vaccination centers have been started to vaccinate 2.5 lakh eligible citizens in the district.


 More than six and a half thousand eligible citizens were vaccinated on the first day of the vaccination campaign. In collaboration with the district administration, Nagpur Zilla Parishad and people's representatives from rural areas, a special vaccination campaign has been launched from today for the citizens suffering from various diseases in the age group of 60 years and above. District Collector Ravindra Thackeray and Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar have planned the vaccination campaign at the district level and about 2.5 lakh citizens of the district will be vaccinated in the next two months. Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Kumbhejkar visited Gumthala and Bhugaon Primary Health Centers today and interacted with the citizens who came for vaccination.


            As the number of coronavirus patients is increasing in rural areas, investigations have been started on a large scale. In addition, vaccination of citizens above 60 years of age has been started. Sarpanch, Gram Sevak, Asha, Anganwadi Sevika, staff and teachers are going door to door to provide information about vaccination and collect information of eligible persons to remove the misconception among the citizens in rural areas for vaccination. Sarpanch and villagers of the district are taking initiative to vaccinate all the senior citizens of the village. For this, information is being conveyed to every village through Dawandi.


            Vaccination is being carried out at 68 centers including 49 primary health centers, 13 rural hospitals and 6 sub-hospitals in the district. Vaccination was planned for each village. Each center accommodates 250 citizens per day. Vaccination has started accordingly. By noon, more than 160 people had been vaccinated at Gumthala. All the taluka wise vaccinations have been started in the district and the Tehsildar as well as the Land Development Officer are planning this campaign and making arrangements to bring the maximum number of eligible citizens to the center by creating awareness among the villagers.
