AIMIM's spectacular surge in Maharashtra; Owaisi's sharp response to 'match-fixing' allegations with BJP!

The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has achieved resounding success in the municipal and municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra. AIMIM candidates have won by large margins in Mumbai (8 seats), Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (33 seats), and in many other places including Malegaon, Nanded, Ahilyanagar, Akola, and Amravati. Following this success, party chief Asaduddin Owaisi gave his first reaction.
Owaisi said, “A very good result has come. I hope all our winning corporators will live up to the expectations of the people. Winning is easy, but fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people after the victory is the real challenge. I am telling all the corporators – stay among the people, show them development work in your wards. Keep the promises made during the elections.”
He further added, “In the Mankhurd-Shivaji Nagar constituency in Mumbai, we won 6 out of 8 seats, and three of the winners are Hindu-Dalit brothers. We won 33 seats in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and our candidates were successful in many other places as well. This is all due to the trust of the voters. Now, if these trusting voters are hurt, those making the allegations will be the ones to suffer.”
Owaisi gave a witty reply to the allegations of match-fixing with the BJP. He said,
“There is a saying in Hyderabad – even if you fall, your legs are still up! Those who make these allegations don't need my treatment. You can make allegations, it doesn't make any difference to me. But if you hurt those who voted for us even more, you will suffer the most.”
Owaisi gave clear instructions to the winning corporators that they should not take any independent decisions until a strategic decision is made by the party. He emphasized prioritizing party discipline and the interests of the people.
This success of AIMIM in Maharashtra is set to create a new equation in the state's politics.
