Manu won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event on Sunday. She is the first woman shooter from India to win an Olympic medal. After that Manu Bhakar-Sarbjot Singh pair has won bronze medal in 10m air pistol mixed team event.
The pair of Manu Bhakar-Sarbjot Singh defeated South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10. The South Korean pair won the first round in this very tight bronze medal match. After that, Manu and Sarabjot made a comeback. Both of them took an 8-2 lead.
After that, the South Korean pair fought back once again to reduce this lead. But, they could not overtake Manu-Sarbjot. Finally, Manu-Sarbjot pair has achieved the winning target and got another medal for India.
This is India's second medal in this Olympics. India has earned two medals in four days of Paris Olympics and both these medals are in shooting. Interestingly, both these medals are awarded by Manu Bhakar.
Indian shooters who have graced major competitions around the world are always expected in the Olympics. India got its first individual gold in the Olympics in shooting. Now, after 12 years, Indian shooters have once again bagged a medal in Paris.
