Attention vehicle owners! If there is no PUC, petrol and diesel will not be available, a big decision of the government

Mumbai: No PUC... No Fuel: The transport department has taken an important decision with the aim of creating a pollution-free environment for future generations. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed to strictly implement the 'No PUC... No Fuel' initiative at all petrol pumps. Under this initiative, fuel will not be supplied to any vehicle without a valid Pollution Control Certificate (PUC).
This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik. Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar and Joint Secretary (Transport) Rajendra Holkar and many senior officials were present in this meeting.
How will the implementation be done?
CCTV scanning: The number of vehicles coming to refuel will be scanned at each petrol pump with the help of CCTV cameras.
PUC checking: It will be checked whether the PUC certificate of that vehicle is valid or not from the scanned number.
No fuel: If the PUC certificate is not valid, fuel will not be supplied to that vehicle.
On-site PUC facility: To avoid inconvenience to drivers, arrangements will be made to issue the PUC certificate immediately at the same petrol pump.
Unique ID: Each PUC certificate will be given a unique identity (UID), so that its validity can be checked from time to time.

Action on illegal certificates
In this meeting, Sarnaik also ordered to take strict action against gangs issuing PUC certificates illegally. In future, arrangements will be made to issue PUC certificates in showrooms and garages that sell vehicles, so that every vehicle on the road has a valid certificate and this will help reduce pollution.
