Balasaheb would have been distressed by today's market of Hindutva: Raj Thackeray's indirect criticism of BJP

Mumbai: At an event organized at the Shri Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Mumbai to mark the birth centenary year of Balasaheb Thackeray, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray sharply criticized the current politics of Hindutva. "If Balasaheb were alive today, he would have been distressed and would have said, 'What have I said?'" Raj Thackeray said, indirectly criticizing the BJP.
Both Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray were present at the event. Raj Thackeray recounted an old incident involving the late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and Balasaheb Thackeray. He said, "In 1984, Balasaheb had told Pramod Mahajan that he would make the Hindus of this country vote as Hindus. Pramod Mahajan had expressed doubt about this, but Balasaheb proved him wrong."
Further speaking, Raj Thackeray expressed regret about the current situation. "Seeing how the idea of ??Hindutva, which Balasaheb propagated with such fervor and dedication, has been turned into a marketplace today, he would have been distressed. He strived to awaken the Hindus, not to criticize others, but for their own self-respect," he said.
Raj Thackeray also recalled Balasaheb's thoughts on the Marathi people and said, "We must constantly keep that self-respect and love alive." The event served as a tribute to Balasaheb's memory, but Raj Thackeray's criticism has heated up the political atmosphere.
