Bodies were lying on the roads in Mecca, 900 died

Mecca. Around 900 people died during the Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia this time, out of which 98 are Indians. This time during the Haj pilgrimage, there was severe heat in Saudi Arabia. The city of Mecca had become a furnace due to the heat. The maximum temperature here reached 51.8 degrees. Eyewitness Haj pilgrims told that due to the severe heat, corpses were lying on the roads.

Talking about last year, 200 people died during the Haj pilgrimage and 2000 people's health deteriorated. Last year the maximum temperature was recorded only up to 48 degrees Celsius. This time during the Haj pilgrimage, the mercury reached above 51 degrees.

35-year-old Owais Rizvi told that a lot of arrangements were made near Kaaba. However, when the pilgrims left Mina for the ritual of pelting stones, the condition of many people started deteriorating.

A journey of 5 to 10 kilometers on foot

Actually, Haj pilgrims stay awake the whole night and then leave early after the morning prayers. People have to travel 5 to 10 kilometers on foot. There is no shelter on the way, due to which people face problems. He told that many elderly people do this journey. When I was coming back after stoning the devil, I saw that 18 to 20 dead bodies were lying on the road. It is a very difficult task to make adequate arrangements for 20 lakh people on this long route.
