Delhi's air is getting worse, average AQI 494, request for artificial rain

New Delhi: Delhi's air remains at dangerous levels every day. Due to air pollution, the AQI in Delhi's Wazirpur reached 494 at 9 pm on Tuesday. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI of other areas including Anand Vihar, Narela, Jahangirpuri and Rohini has also crossed 400. At the same time, Delhi's average AQI has been recorded at 494. This is the worst AQI this season. Meanwhile, Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai has written a letter to the central government and requested for artificial rain.
Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav in Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party government has said that pollution in Delhi is in a very serious category. Artificial rain is needed to deal with this. Rai has described this situation as a medical emergency. On Monday, in view of the severity of air pollution in Delhi-NCR, all necessary restrictions of Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) have been implemented.
