Do proper planning in terms of waste disposal - Dayashankar Tiwari

Nagpur, Dec 21: Staying at a waste transfer station for long periods of time spreads bad smell. This causes inconvenience to the citizens of the area. The collected waste should be disposed of in a scientific manner for a limited period of time. Make proper planning for this, instructed Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari.
Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari made an inspection tour regarding the problem at the waste transfer station in Laxminagar zone.
The waste transfer station on Khamla to Jayatala road in Laxminagar zone was shifted to Sakar Nagar ground at the back of the same ground. Both these places were inspected by the mayor. The transfer station on the former Khamla to Jayatala route used to cause bad smell in the area and there were also accidents on the road due to the presence of pigs here. The mayor also directed the concerned sanitation inspectors to issue show cause notices and impose fines on the concerned companies for the inconvenience caused to the citizens due to lack of proper planning in the area and errors left by the waste collection company.
Garbage collected from households is deposited at the waste transfer station. It is then taken to the Bhandewadi dumping yard with the help of a large tipper. However, since the wet waste is dumped on the ground before being taken to the dumping yard, the stench spreads through it. The transfer station space should be leveled and cement concreted to prevent bad odor and proper disposal of waste. Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari directed that immediate planning should be done in this regard.
Cam's look at open dumpsters
Necessary action will now be taken against those who deface the city by dumping garbage in open plots and open spaces. Cameras will be installed by the Municipal Corporation to monitor and take action against those who dump garbage in open space. The mayor informed about this during the inspection of the tour. A large plot of land is vacant in Padole Hospital Chowk on Ring Road. Citizens have to suffer because garbage is being dumped there. Considering the inconvenience caused to the citizens due to dumping of garbage near the main road, it is necessary to be vigilant on the concerned citizens. Cameras will be installed on this plot to take action in this regard. Therefore, the culprits will be photographed and action will be taken against them. Apart from this, the amount of expenses incurred for complete cleaning and leveling of the plot should be recovered from the concerned plot owner in the form of tax. The mayor also gave strict instructions to auction the land as per the rules if the tax is not paid.
