Sarang Akolkar and Vinay Pawar, members of the absconding Sanatan Sanstha, were accused of attacking Dabholkar. But in 2018, the CBI arrested Andure and Kalsarkar and said they were attackers. The CBI had later arrested Amol Kale, Amit Digvekar and Rajesh Bangera. However, no chargesheet has been filed against him. On the other hand, three of Kalaskar have been accused of killing Bangalore-based journalist Gauri Lankesh in 2017. Such an argument was made by the defense.
