For the first time, 11 players including Neeraj Chopra and Ravi Dahiya will get Khel Ratna award


New Delhi: Athlete Neeraj Chopra, who won a gold medal in the javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics, will receive this year's Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna award. The list also includes the names of the best players in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, including Neeraj. Also named are women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj and football team captain Sunil Chhetri. For the first time, 11 players will get Khel Ratna award. Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, cricketer Mithali Raj, footballer Sunil Chhetri, wrestler Ravi Dahiya, boxer Lovelina Borgohen, hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, badminton player Pramod Bhagat, Sumit Antil, Avni Lekhra, Krishna Nagar and M Narwal.

 
The announcement of the Khel Ratna award this year was delayed due to the Olympics and Paralympic Games. Five players were honored with the award last year. This time it includes athletes from the Olympics and Paralympic Games. This includes four medalists who made the country famous at the Tokyo Olympics. There are five medalists in the Tokyo Paralympics. The committee formed for the selection of national awards has announced 35 Arjuna awards including 11 Khel Ratna awards.
